Rights Respecting Schools

Stanton School has adopted the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). Our school values and ethos already encompass many of these principles, but we are now more explicit in making children, staff and our community aware of how we were using them to underpin all aspects of our practice. We are very proud to have been awarded a Record of Commitment by UNICEF and are currently on our journey to achieving the Level 1 Award.

RRSA Certificate

The Pepper Hill and Stanton Federation is proud to have received a ‘Recognition of Commitment’ for its work towards the Unicef ‘Rights Respecting Schools Award’ (RRSA). This is the first stage in the process and we now begin work on achieving the full award.

The RRSA is an excellent way for us to teach our pupils about their rights and how to respect the rights of others. It is designed to empower young people, to ensure their views are heard and that they play a full and active role in the success, wellbeing and safety of the school
