The teaching of Religious Education at Stanton in based on Key Questions which are in line with both the agreed syllabus for all Milton Keynes Schools, and the New National Curriculum.
Religious Education provides opportunities for pupils to learn about, and learn from, the major faith groups represented in our community. The lesson content is woven around the three core strands - believing, belonging and behaving.
The children explore stories, artefacts and images as well as having the opportunity to examine the lives of characters in religious stories, visit a range of religious buildings and meet visitors from across the community. The pupils are encouraged to question, and make choices about who may be considered good roles models, and pupils learn to deal with a wide range of concepts that they will encounter during their lives. As Stanton pupils gain a basic understanding of the different faith groups around them, they develop a greater respect for each other and this in turn fosters a healthy attitude of consideration for their peers.
