At Stanton School we teach art in line with the New National Curriculum. All children are encouraged to develop a range of artistic skills including sketching, painting, perspective and fine liner work and looking at different forms of art such as impressionism, realism, pop art and cartoons. The children use a wide range of materials and techniques which stimulate their imagination and allow them to express personal thoughts, emotions and observations.
Our Art planning includes an introduction to the appreciation of artists and genres as well as a variety of cultures through images and artefacts, where children are encouraged to observe closely and evaluate. Children also use the local environment to inspire their work.
