At Stanton School we teach Computing in line with the New National Curriculum. Using the Rising Stars Scheme we carefully plan lessons with computing aims to ensure that all pupils can understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including abstraction, logic, algorithms and data representation.
We aim to ensure children can analyse problems in computational terms, and have repeated practical experience of writing computer programs in order to solve such problems. We strive to provide children with the opportunities to evaluate and apply information technology, including new or unfamiliar technologies, analytically to solve problems and ensure that pupils are responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communication technology.
We also regularly incorporate the importance of e-safety, making them aware of children to the dangers and the means of keeping safe whilst using technology.
